Our Story

Long before the company was officially created, its founder, Guillaume Damsin, was already working with many organisations in Belgium and Luxembourg. Across these missions, the same observation kept coming back: many SMEs relied on infrastructures that were insufficiently secured, sometimes deployed without a real long-term vision or a level of expertise suited to today's risks.

With more than 14 years of experience in demanding and critical environments such as BCEE Luxembourg (Banque et Caisse d'Epargne de l'Etat), POST Luxembourg (DEEP), PwC Luxembourg and ING Bank, he developed a strong culture of rigour, service availability, confidentiality and operational resilience. This experience reinforced a deep conviction: infrastructure quality and cybersecurity maturity should not be reserved for large companies.

Another observation also shaped the creation of Styx Consulting. In Belgium, IT, networking and cybersecurity professions are not subject to regulated access to the profession. In practice, anyone can offer IT services, regardless of their real level of skill or experience.

Over the years, we have encountered very concrete situations: backups that had not been working for several months without anyone noticing, firewalls exposed to the Internet with insufficient configurations, business networks without segmentation between users and critical systems, or vulnerable servers due to a lack of regular updates. In some cases, a simple configuration error or the absence of good practices was enough to expose the company's entire activity.

These situations are generally not the result of bad intentions. They are often the consequence of a lack of expertise, a configuration carried out too quickly or insufficient support. Yet the consequences can be serious: business interruption, data loss, Microsoft 365 account compromise, rapid ransomware propagation across the network, unavailability of critical services or damage to the company's reputation.

This is why Styx Consulting places particular importance on industry-recognised professional certifications, continuous training and the application of best practices. In a sector where threats constantly evolve and technologies become increasingly complex, expertise can never be considered acquired once and for all.

This vision led to the creation of Styx Consulting in 2021. The objective was clear: to provide organisations with high-level technical expertise, pragmatic solutions and reliable, secure infrastructures adapted to their real needs.
